One neighborhood that will change dramatically over the next few years is New Center. Anchored by the Fisher Building, new construction and renovations are well underway in the neighborhood and surrounding areas. While plenty of redevelopment is still happening in Midtown, the momentum seems to be shifting just north into this centralized neighborhood.

The Platform has acquired the Lakeshore Global Building in New Center, the company said Wednesday. The eight-story, 240,000-square-foot building sits on the northeast corner of Woodward and Grand Boulevard in a neighborhood that’s seen steady investment over the last few years.

One of many construction projects in New Center is moving right along. Construction continues at Baltimore Station, on the corner of Woodward and Baltimore, with leasing underway for the 23 “glass-walled loft apartments” and 10,000 square feet of retail space, according to a release from the Platform. They’re expecting to finish with this phase this summer.
