Michigan Strategic Fund OKs $5M loan for old Studebaker site

September 27th, 2022

The Michigan Strategic Fund approved Tuesday a $5 million state program loan for the redevelopment of a former Studebaker building in Detroit into a 161-unit apartment complex. The board also approved the City of Detroit brownfield redevelopment authority’s request for $882,821 in state brownfield tax incentive reimbursement for the project.

Woodward West opens for residents

A new apartment building is now open in Midtown, welcoming its first batch of residents for move-in last week. Woodward West, a $60 million joint venture between the Platform and Queen Lilian, is currently 72 percent leased for its 204 apartments.

Detroit building owned by The Platform to get face-lift

A building owned by Detroit-based The Platform LLC is in line to get an overhaul of its facade. The Historic District Commission is scheduled to consider whether to allow Peter Cummings’ real estate development, ownership and leasing firm to revamp the exterior of the Lakeshore Global building at 7300 Woodward Ave. at the northeast corner of East Grand Boulevard.
