Brandon Hodges, senior development and affordable housing manager for The Platform, said the 13,000-square-foot project is financed with $530,000 in owner equity, a $1.23 million Horizon Bank loan, $750,000 from the Southfield-based Max M. & Marjorie S. Fisher Foundation, $750,000 from the Michigan Economic Development Corp. and $750,000 from Detroit’s Strategic Neighborhood Fund. Construction began in November and is expected to wrap up in late August with four affordable housing units on the top level and about 9,000 square feet of commercial space on the bottom.
